Zika and Baja California ( La Paz, Mexico)
OK, I think might have to cancel my trip, really nervous about this Zika stuff. Were schedule to visit Baja specifically La Paz, Mexico and my wife will be approximately 18 weeks pregnant at the time. I've heard there's no cases in Baja but I've also heard that Dengue fever was big back few years ago specifically in that area and it happens to be same type of mosquito that carries Zika. I'm really concerned and might take the hit and cancel since I booked through a travel website. Any help advice appreciated!

I cannot give you any specific advice, but the risk is probably low. However, why risk the health of your baby or worry about it if your wife get a mosquito bite. Just for peace of mind, I would skip it.

I took a at the CDC website for you.
"Zika outbreaks have been reported in Mexico. Because of the risk of birth defects in babies born to women who were infected with Zika while pregnant, women who are pregnant should not travel to Mexico"
Pretty definite.

IF you READ the CDC site it says that areas over 6,500 feet are safe, if you ONLY go there, which might be difficult. But I don't think that applies to the coast, where the OP is headed.
So far there only two POSSIBLE cases in the US attributable to transmission by mosquitoes.

It is easy to be sanguine when it is not your wife and unborn child that are at risk.
I note that the CDC is advising pregnant women not to travel to a specific area of Miami. The situation is only going to get worse, especially when the people who have gone to Rio for the Olympics return.
Glad I'm headed to Europe....
