Zamas Bungalows
My wife and I are intrigued by the rustic appeal of Zamas. We also love to take long beach strolls ( 2+ miles). Is it easy to get to other beaches?
Also, I have never rented a vehicle in Mexico. Suggestions?

If you are referring to Zamas in Tulum, its very nice. When we visited, it was fully booked, so we stayed down the beach (at an unmemorable cabana), but we took all of our meals at Zamas (great food). The beaches are very, very long, and you could easily walk for 2+ miles. We rented a car at Cancun airport and drove to Tulum -- its no different than driving in the US.

You can walk down to Maya Tulum and cut -through to the beach - just pretend you're going to the restaurant. There are a couple of other properties just past Maya Tulum where you can cut-through...Hemingways, Kin-Ha, Posada Margherita.
Have you read the reviews lately for Zamas - sounds kinda loud. There are plenty, PLENTY of other rusticish cabanas in Tulum. Look at differentworld.com, todotulum.com, tulum.info, hotelstulum.com.

Comment re Al Cielo -- It does look lovely and it most likely will be, but when we went to look at it, there was a bus load of spring breakers right there. You might want to ask about that -- they were just on the beach, not staying there.
