Young Couple Looking for a Vacation Destination

I am a 23 year old female looking to take a 5 night vacation at the end of November with my boyfriend for his 23rd birthday! I will be flying out of Minneapolis, MN, and he will be flying out of Grand Rapids, MI. We need something affordable, looking for around $1.000 total per person including flight and everything if possible, so $2,000 total. We were thinking an all-inclusive vacation may be fun as neither of us have ever tried that. We are looking for something on the ocean with beautiful scenery, and as for the atmosphere we are looking for something relaxing/romantic but with the potential to also have a lot of fun and party a couple of nights. Any recommendations/ideas would be much appreciated!

The Mexican Carribean might float your boat - fabulous beaches, great food, mayan ruins, snorkelling, etc. Go to locogringo.com for tons of info.

http://www.cheapcaribbean.com/

Is a good website to do initial research. You put in your home airport(s) and then can sort by island, destination, by budget, etc.

You better revise your budget as 1000.00 including flight will not get you very far...
Sorry.

You may find something in Playa del Carmen, Cozumel or Isle Mujeres for a decent price at that time of year.
You'd fly into Cancun.
Check Expedia, Groupon etc for packages.
Good luck

I used the link I posted above. Put in Minneapolis and Puerto Vallarta using the dates of the last 5 days of the month. There were 7 resort choices that popped up in the $1,100-$1,200 total price for air, hotel, all inclusive package.

You need to read the fine print and look at details but these are *nice* resorts and PV definitely offers:

If you were going to go to Belize, I'd recommend staying on Ambergris - very pretty with lots to do, restaurants, etc. but I think Mexico is probably your best bet.

Thanks cabovacation! Sometimes people request things that are simply not possible, or not possible for the budget they have... but this isn't one of them

Check out

http://www.applevacations.com/riviera-maya/

or

http://www.funjet.com/destinations/riviera-maya

These are two of the most popular companies that sell packaged vacations including air fare. Put in your dates and it will give you a pretty substantial list of hotel choices at all different price points.

I put in 5 nights from Minneapolis to Cancun/Riviera Maya and got dozens of choices from $813 to $2193 per person. I have been to this area many times and use a travel agent who uses these two companies almost exclusively. Never had any problems with either of them. The hardest part will be picking a hotel. Good luck.
