Which is the best beach area of Belize?

Jump to last reply

I am planning a trip to Belize in February/March. It will be a girls getaway for three girls in our early 30s. We would like to do a vacation with part of the time in the jungle and part at the beach. I think I know where to go in the jungle, but could use some help on which beach region to go to. Ambergis Caye? Cay Caulker? Placencia? Which has the nicest beaches? We also really like restaurants, shops, cute bars/cafes. Or, a resort that provides those...

Also, any advice on specific hotels/resorts on the beach/in the beach area?

Last... what is the scoop with the beaches there? Is it a nice beach vacation? Sun, swimming, relaxing with frozen drinks? I'm seeing some mixed reviews.

Thank you for any help you can offer!!
