My wife and I were married on the beach in Cancun and are returning for our 25th wedding anniversary for a week in mid-October. We are thinking about staying in a resort in Riviera Maya, but wouldn't rule out Cancun proper. What we are looking for is a resort with enough to offer that we won't get bored if we stay on the resort most days, but will likely venture out 2-3 days. Tennis, snokeling, a nice pool, and a beautiful beach are our priorities. But lots of options (sailing, jet skis, etc.) would be a plus. We aren't afraid to pay top dollar, but don't want to be surrounded by a bunch of snooty people in a resort that reeks of money.
Any recommendations?

Congrats!
There are So many great resorts in that area.
I don't know if you want a full all inclusive or not.
For adults only all inclusive resorts look into:
Secrets Maroma, Iberostar Paraiso Grand, Le Blanc, Royal Hideaway, Catalonia Royal Tulum.
Grand Velas is a huge top notch resort which is not adults only, but has some adults only restaurant and pool areas.
