Where to shop for fabric on the Mayan Riviera?

Hi,

I confess to being a bit of a textile nerd and love to explore fabric shops in many of the cities I visit. In all of our trips to PDC and Akumal, I've never indulged since, well, who wants to leave the beach/water to go shopping. We are headed to Akumal at the end of the month and on this trip I thought I would try to explore some fabric shops.

I'd love to visit fabric stores or markets selling same anywhere from Cancun to Tulum. I'd really appreciate any recommendations from folks who know the area/shopping better than I do. I am most interested in fabrics for bedding/cushions/window treatments.

Thanks,
Ellie

There are two that I know of in PDC. Both are on 30th Avenue. The first is on the corner of 30th and approx. 16th street on the west side of 30th opposite Mega (toward the south end of their parking lot). You could park in the Mega parking lot and walk across 30th. This is south of Constituyentes. The other is also on 30th and is north of Constituyentes also on the west side of 30th and around 28 street. I believe it's called Assis but I know I'm wrong on the spelling. It is also on the corner. May be a little father north than 28th street.
