Where to go in March in Mexico on the Pacific Coast

Where to go in March in Mexico on the Pacific Coast
Does anyone have any suggestions for where we can go for a mini quick vacation of 4 days (Thursday - Friday) in Mexico on the Pacific coast?
We live in San Fran so the Pacific coast flights work better.
We have already been to Ixtapa/Zihua. (stayed at Las Brisas there back when it was a Westin)
and to PV (we stayed at the Intercontiental there.
We loved PV and I have heard also wonderful things about La Casa Que Canta in Zihua (we walked past it and ate on the beach next door to it when we were in Zihua) so I guess going back to either is an option.
But we would love something new.
Have thought about Acapulco and Los Cabos but are they really worth it and are their hotels there on the level of La Casa Que Canta or the city as charming as PV? (cobblestone streets and great restaurants)
Is there any out of the way resorts on the beach or in the jungle that are great get aways (we actually stayed in Belize in the jungle at Coppola's resort - Blancaneaux and loved that as well as it was so unique and different from the usual stuff)
Any recommendations on resorts and places to visit?

P.S. I have looked into Huatalco but are the beaches nice and are there activities? Or it it basically like Zihua? And I have also looked into Manzanillo which I am leaning towards. Any comments on Manzanillo?
P.S.S. This trip is for my husband and I for us to get away and rest (we have 2 very demanding jobs) but we also like to do things like explore Mayan ruins or go see wildlife or nature conservatories or sealife and also explore towns and eat at good restaurants (ie the food is well prepared)

I'm a fan of La Casa Que Canta tambien. And Zihua IS one of the nicer coastal locales. For something away from town, however, nothing beats Las Alamandas on the Costa Alegre. Pricey and worth it. Also, El Tamarindo just a bit to the south of Las Alamandas.
Las Alamandas is on the pacific coast midway between Puerto Vallarta and Manzanillo.

Mazatlan might be interesting for you too. It's often overlooked and bypassed, but it really has quite a bit going for it, especially around the April timeframe. Should also be easy to get inexpensive flights out of California...

I have been to almost every major place in Mexico more than once,except for Huatulco....
so on January 27th I am heading to Huatulco.
For a quick four days maybe Mazatlan would be just great.
As previouly mentioned it is over looked but a nice place if you have never been there.
You know what there is no "babd" place in Mexico for a beach holiday.
and yes Manzanillo is very nice , but you only have four days.
Cabos San Lucas is also good for a four day rest.
I really liked Acapulco, but I think you need more than four days.
I am leaning to Mazatlan or fly a little further and go to Manzanillo.

Hi, don't know if you've taken trip yet, but we're returning to Manzanillo for the 2nd yr. now and thought you may like to hear about some of our favorites. We loved El Cayeres for the peacefull beaches and great rooms and would recommend it highly. I just book directly through Starwood.
Another unknown spot is Punta Serena. I first saw it as a holistic retreat online. It's clothing optional, all inclusive. These words actually scared me, but curiosity made me check it out. It's no longer holistic, but offers spa tratments, health drinks and a Temescal, a ritual that starts on the beach and ends up in a sweat lodge. It was hard to believe we even tried it as were not typically spiritual. But it's what you make of it and enjoyable. We like to eat and drink along with our massages and walks, and enjoyed the privacy on the beach - there were only 8 people in the whole resort and you had a private cove all to yourselves.
The rooms are in need of some updating, but huge comfortable beds and overly spacious with patios looking over the water and hammocks to laze in total privacy.
The food was by far surperior to any we've had in all of Mexico as they have NO buffets, all made to order, fresh, and anything you want to ask for. They'll even go get lobster if you ask a day ahead. It's all inclusive with beverages too and we enjoyed one of the 2 jacuzzis at sunset with the bartender running up and down the steps with our drinks without us even asking.
I own a busy restaurant and when we leave we want to be waited on and have luxuries we can't get at home...this is it and we're heading back next mo. again.
We plan on going to Guadalajara to explore before going to the beaches. If you have time, there's so much to see and it's not as touristy in this part of Mexico.
