We are leaving for CR in a couple of weeks for our honeymoon. I have Teva sandals and hiking boots...but we are not sure to bring for clothing? What type of shorts/pants are best for hiking? We are doing Lapa Rios, Arenal, Monteverde.
Thanks!
What clothes do I bring???

Hi Angela--
My friend and I went to Costa Rica in June for 10days! It's very warm (even when it rains), and pretty casual. We only got semi dressed up one evening, but we would have been just as fine in shorts. Shorts and tee shirts are the main thing. Make sure you have really good hiking socks as well so your feet stay comfy! I did bring a pair of light colored long cotton pants that I used in Monteverde when I did the Canopy Tour. Other than that, it was shorts everyday! Enjoy!
We were in Costa Rica just a few weeks ago. Pack lots of shorts. It might also be a good idea to invest in those convertable pants. The pants unzip above the knee and turn into shorts. My husband and I love ours, very handy for hiking. And the most important thing is a hat, to protect you from the sun. Have a great time!
I'm not sure if you will be in CR during the wet season -- but even not, bring a really good lightweight, waterproof jacket(gortex). And have it handy! We got caught in two storms (even though it was sunny in the morning)and got drenched. Monteverde tended to be a bit cool (particularly at night) -- long sleeved shirt was useful there.
