Watching NCAA Basketball in Buenos Aires

Someone wrote asking last year but never got a response. Is there a sports bar or somewhere in Buenos Aires to catch the NCAA basketball tournament?

There is an new sports bar called The Alamo, located in Recoleta/Barrio norte, that caters to Americans and American interests....

As well, since there are several Argentinos playing on American teams, many games are broadcast on cable sports channels.....especially the Spurs!

If you like pro basketball, almost every San Antonio Spurs game is on tv because of the presence of Manu Ginobili and even Fabricio Oberto, both Argentines that were on the Olympic Goal medal team. Andres Nocioni is on Chicago Bulls, so you get some of those games down there too. Because of the success of the Argentines in basketball, more and more games are being broadcast down there, which gives some respite to the daily soccer barrage. And yes some bars with sophisticated satellite systems in BA are broadcasting american sports and entertainment programming, the Alamo being one of them.

Speaking of the daily barrage of soccer...The Boca Juniors have their own channel on Cable....complete with replays of all the important games of the last quarter century along with other forms of entertainment, kind of an American Idol like assortment of amatuer singers, dancers, comedians, etc. and broadcasts of developmental league soccer games....

There is no more soccer in Argentina.

The gauchos and their senoritas have gone wild for tatooed thugs playing 'merican basketball.

thanks! While we're super excited for our first trip to Argentina, my family is a group of Duke fans and would love to catch the tournament if possible...
