Want to learn more about mexican cuisine
I am planning to spend some time in Mexico City and some of the colonial cities.
Any ideas where I can learn about the traditional dishes from that area.
Or somewhere with menu guides. My spanish is limited.

Here is some basic info on Mexican traditional dishes. Not especially for Mexico City, but a starting point. Go to your library and check out Mexican cookbooks. The best would be by either Diane Kennedy or Rick Bayless.

There are also culinary tours in that area that might interest you. I've seen trips that featured some of Mexico's most innovative chefs, as well as trips with well-known American cookbook authors like Rick Bayless.
A google search should turn up some of these. Puebla is one of the richest areas for foodies. You might also take a look at what some of the culinary tours do. For example, www.epiculinary.com
Have fun!
