If you have an EU passport you can get the visa on arrival, I'm not sure what the procedure is for other passport holders.
We are US citizens so I wonder how that works.
If you are US then you need to get a Brazil Visa before you leave otherwise they may not let you cross or fine you. Contact the Brazilian consulate near you or a Visa service. I have used this service before, each visa is about over $100
