tulum, punta allen and sian ka an
An update of our travel!!
272. Km
We are completely destroyed, laying in a hotel room, finally clean, drinking beer and we are enjoying the comfort of the hotel more then ever before

After this last bit of cycling we started competing in three categories:
1. Who has more mosquito bites
2. Who has more cuts
3. Who has more weird allergic reactions
So what happened since our last post. We cycled 44 km to get to Tulum, city with nice beaches, Mayan ruins and surprisingly a lot of tourists from Europe.

Since Danny became a real fisher (what gives me a lot of time to read books) we decided to go to Punta Allen, a small fishing village, 50 km from Tulum. On the way there we stopped twice to catch some fish and crabs.

After that we decided that we should continue, we still had to do around 20 km. That did not seem like much, however what we did not expected was that the road was going to be horrible. It was so bad...that it took us 4,5 hour and we came to Punta Allen at dawn.

And we deserved some good food...

Next day we were relaxing, fishing again and watching crocodiles

The barracuda we saw when snorkeling but a bit smaller.

We found out that we can cross the "river" to the Sian Ka'an biosphere reservation and cycle from there, 80km through jungle to our nextdestination: Felipe Cerrillo Puerto.

The road was not as good as people told us... It was like a mountain bike trail... All the time... For 80km...

But we heard a lot of exotic birds, monkeys and saw a big tapir and "Un"fortunatelly we did not see any jaguars and pumas.
