Just back from Tulum. A great place to eat at is Son y Cafe in Tulum puebla. Do visit the Weary Traveller in Tulum puebla(town) right at the bus stop. It's an internet cafe cum tourist info place with helpful workers. They will give you a useful map and brochures and tell you where to eat etc with no expectations of anything in return. They even offer you free coffee. They would appreciate some movie videos (free internet time in return)for their nightly movie screenings. It's a 24h place. We didn't rent a car and took taxis (US$3-4, one way)around Tulum. Noticed that car rentals in Cancun was discounted, with ads for $20 for a small jeep. There are enough restaurant choices in Tulum for eating to be enjoyable. I enjoyed myself despite the rain and would return to Tulum in a heartbeat.

Thanks for reply. Didn't think I would ever get a reply. Although i mentioned i was just looking for info on the Bahia i'm still glad you gave other info, and the bahia is an all inclusive so i doubt i will go out of the resort to eat (although i do plan a day to cancun and one to cozumel, oh and also to pdc. i'll see if i can do all that in one day. only going for 7 days. was it very humid there?

Thanks again

Fairly humid, but it wasn't too hot when I was there thanks to the rains.

I think the Bahia is fairly new. There aren't too many AIs in Tulum, at least not compared to Cancun or PDC. The ruins at Tulum and Coba are close by. Also, lots of cenotes in the area. Just curious, by why travel all the way to Tulum for AI? There are lots of them between Cancun and PDC and some are very nice. Plus, there's a lot more to do in the larger towns. I hope you have a good time at the Bahia, but if you don't like it, there isn't much else close by.
