We stayed at Tulemar a few yrs. ago in August with our 6 & 8 yr. old and loved it1 They have their own beach (safe swimming at certain times of the day) and the bungalows are on a hill with wonderful views. Pool in on hill next to the restaurant with great view. It is a quiet place, good for families, & couples, not singles. Cabins had cable tv, king sized bed, and small cooking area( which we tried to use, but gave up and just ate at restaurant). We stayed there for 9 days, and took excursions from there. Highly recommend it! We saw more animals on their grounds than at the M.A. park which was hassle because our kids got too tired walking thru it. It was unsafe and too far to walk along the road to get there so had to take taxi. Also, we had to be careful crossing over the stream to enter and exit if tide was up (esp. w/ young kids). M.A. area was crowded with backpackers; and beach before it was unsafe. This was in the "off season". We just found it easier to hike in the Tulemar grounds with our kids. We saw sloths, monkey troupes, butterflies, racoons, and coatamundis. Also experienced an earthquake tremor which scared the heck out of us. At dusk literally hundreds of hermit crabs would be on the beach cleaning up any debris! Kids loved it and so did we. We noticed they were trying to subdivide and sell off parcels; you may want to check if this has been started. We thought it a shame.

While we were staying at Tulemar, we visited Si Como No, had lunch there and the kids used the pool which has a waterslide, and if I remember corectly, the setting by the pool and the restaurant next to it wasn't as nice as the Tulemar, but still nice, and lush. My impression of Si Como No (although we didn't stay there) was it was more "americanized" and catered more to American clients than Tulemar. It may even be owned by an American. For ex., we noticed mostly Americans around the pool area, and the pool restaurant menu included french fries, hamburgers, etc. Tulemar guests were from Costa Rica, England, Canada (us), and the U.S. Just our observations, neither good nor bad.
