Transportation Airport to Isla Mujeres

Hello,
My boyfriend and I are flying into Cancun the last week in October and staying a week on Isla Mujeres. What is the quickest, easiest, safest transportation from the cancun airport to Isla Mujeres?

We're going to be exhausted from flying and I believe our flight gets in late, so I was hoping for some specific recent details regarding taxis, buses or what so it'll be nice and easy for us.

And there are several boats and ferries to the actual island, any recommendations?
