Transportation

My husband and I are planning to go to Playa del Carmen in the spring. I was reading about The Jungle Place where you can see monkeys. Has anyone been? And since we don't like to rent cars, does anyone know how we would get there and what it might cost?

I found this elsewhere on the net:
"The Jungle Place is located in Cheymuil (in between Akumal and Tulum). It is very easy to get to from Highway 307. You can take a collectivo to the center of Cheymuil and then a taxi to sanctuary. The taxi shouldn't be more than 70 pesos each way. You can either have the driver wait during your visit or come back for you after the hour. Either way don't pay until you get back to Cheymuil. It is wise to have a rough map of where the sanctuary is from Cheymuil to show the taxi drivers even though it is about five minutes drive time."

It was really easy to find the first time, and then again, by just doing a google:

Also try Tripadvisor. They have a section with info & a forum on Playa del Carmen, including info on the Jungle Place.

I'm leaving for my first trip to Playa next week so don't have any first hand experience with the Jungle Place but have read good things about it on Tripadvisor.
