I am looking for private service as opposed to group shuttle, dependable, safe drivers, "road worthy vehicles. Suggestions?
Mikemo: I have read all of the threads here and on TA.Most people were looking for the least expensive service. You commented on the lack of "road worthy" vehicles used for some of the private services as opposed to the vans. If $10 here or there doesn't matter to me, which service could I depend on? I don't take driving in Mexico through the mountains lightly.
I have the contact info. for Turistios Rodriguez,Polanco,Viajes San Miguel,Viajes Vertiz,Transtur-imperial, and Angelica. How does one decide? Any suggestions? We will have 2 different airport pick up dates of two people each, one return date of one person, and one return date of three people.

WLS,
I have used Leandro Delgado many times. The first being probably 8 or 9 years ago and the last being 1.5 years ago. I believe he was first recommended to me through Casa Luna & I have always had good experiences with him. The last contact info I have for him is 415 152 0155 or leandrotours@hotmail.com. The last time we used him, were picked up from/ taken to BJX in an almost new Suburban.
As recently mentioned, the industry is in a transition.
In your position, I would use Transtur-Imperial if you can lock-in the $42. RT pp.

Their large MB minibus is great, but they cannot get it thru our tunnel entrance and up the drive (and carrying luggage down is not an option).
The less than road worthy vehicles have been the private cars arranged by hotels, B&Bs and renters/rental agents according to the feedback I have personally received.
Buen viaje.

Thanks Mikemo and kwil. As it turns out, I recieved an email from our house rental agent today explaining that they charge extra if you don't use their transportation service upon arrival because they give the house keys to the transport drivers ahead of time. However, their transportation is provided through Senor Leandro Delgado, who kwil recommended. The only time transportation through our rental agent is necessary,is when my daughter and I arrive first. We will use Senor Delgado for that trip. If all goes well, he can provide the transport for the other three airport trips my family will need. Otherwise, I have mikemo's info. with emails and telephone numbers for the other trips. Thank you both for your help and recommendations.
Wendy,
Leandro Delgado is one of several long standing good quality professional tour services.
I simply didn't know his fee schedule.
The marginal guys are the friends and relatives with ancient cars.
