I am traveling on thursday by myself to Costa Rica to meet up with friends, I am trying to figure out the best option for a single young woman to go to Jaco from SJO airport. i arrive at 11:15 am, so I really prefer not to wait for the 2 pm Interbus, esp since I am only there til sunday but then I also read that the regular bus which is cheap is not the safest. Any other ideas or am I stuck trying to book a private transfer?
Thanks!
Jamie

The public bus probably won't get you there any earlier than the 2 o'clock Interbus. By the time you take the bus downtown, get over to the Coca-Cola station and get a ticket it'll probably be close to 2 p.m. and you're starting from downtown which is farther from Jaco.
Private transfer, taxi or renting a car are your options.
I totally agree with Costaricaguide . You'll probably catch the Interbus at the Hampton or HI by the airport? Have some lunch across the street at Rosti,Pollo and relax in the Holiday inn lobby. The public bus is definitely not an express.
