Transfers from Cancun Airport to Tulum - Help!!

I'm taking my son to Tulum the week before X-mas and need a way of getting from Cancun Airport to Dreams Tulum in Tulum. Have only heard horror stories about Mauritor transfers - Hotel said they can arrange for 200 USD pp - seems really steep - Locogringo website has it for 177 USD pp, but doesn't provide info. on who does the transport.

Does anyone have other recommendations???

THANKS, ALL!!

I think they use AGI. Cancun Valet is also good and playadelcarmeninfo.com also has service.

You could take the Riviera bus from the Cancun airport to downtown Playa del Carmen (costs about US$7.00 per person), then catch a bus to downtown Tulum, cost about US$2.00. Then catch a cab to Dreams Tulum. The buses are nice, first class shows a movie, second class is also comfortable, just lacks a movie, and you have to load your own baggage into the baggage area.

Looks like Cancun Valet is $190 roundtrip - I believe that's per vanload, not per person. Also look at getdita.com.

i can vouch for the service locogringo provides. i booked on line and received immed. confirmation. was met at the airport with a sign with my name on it. no one else in the airconditioned van. your cost of 177 is i believe for 2 and is roundtrip. so real cost is 44.25 pp each way. if you email lg and ask them to clear this up they will respond right away. our driver pepe spoke very good english.

Cancun Valet charges per van, not per person. A van can hold up to ten people. We've used them and they were very reliable. Check them out at

All private services are price per vehicle. Just shared ones charge per person. 170-200 is average pricing in all local and international companies.

If cost is an issue, take the ADO bus at the airport. It is about 1000 feet to your right as you exit the terminal (big red buses, like Greyhound)They leave every hour to Playa del Carmen (approximatly 50 minutes), price is about 12.00 US Once in Playa (bus terminal)you can take a taxi (juat outside bus terminal) to your final destination. Just negotiate a price with the driver before you leave. All taxis have a preset fare to specific hotels listed on a sheet in the cab, you just need to ask.

Maybe just rent a car at the airport. Is a straight shot down 307 to Tulum. Easier than any drive you'll do in the US.

We are going to Tulum within the next few months and already booked with USA Transfers. They charge $145 for a roundtrip transfer for 1-3 people. Do a search for USA transfers and Cancun and you should find their website. We used them last year to go to Playa del Carmen and were very pleased with them!
