Thoughts on The Tides Zihuatanejo?
I'm planning a honeymoon for October - our favorite option is The Tides in Zihuatanejo. Does anyone have any words of wisdom on this hotel or Zihuatanejo?

The Tides is the nicest hotel on La Ropa beach in Zihua. I stayed at the Intrawest up the beach from the Tides last summer, and took a little stroll around the Tides while we were there. It looked beautiful. A lot of rooms don't have beach views, and it looks like the best rooms really go up in price quickly. But if money isn't the concern, it really looks fabulous overall.
If you stay, don't be afraid to venture up the beach to some of the beachside cafes. Good food and service, and you'll save a lot of $$. The nicest thing about Zihua is that the food seems to be wonderful everywhere.

Lovely place but lots of complaints since the change from the Villa del Sol many from old guest but then this often happens with new owners. They are building soon a new property next door so do not know about how disruptive that will be.

Did you end up still going with the Tides? If so, when in October are you going? We will be there October 3-10 and I am so excited. I have heard some reviews lately that have been really great on other sites.
