Does anyone know how the approx. cost is for transportation from PV (Villa del Palmar) to Nuevo Vallarta (Mayan Village)?

I don't know the exact price but taxis are very reasonable in PV (except when leaving the airport where there are regulated prices &amp; care are white in color).<BR><BR>Once in town you can catch any independent yellow taxi cab. For example, earlier this month, I paid 170 peso leaving the airport for into the very south part of Old Town and 60 peso returning the same distance. Simply ask the front desk person once you are at your hotel approx. what price should be, then double-check when you hop in a cab. It's about a 20 mins. ride (I believe).<BR><BR>Secondly if you're feeling a bit more adventuresome for only 4 peso*!* you can catch a local bus heading out that way along the highway. Cheap and fun.

Nuevo is pretty far away. I bet you pay $10-$15 US to get there from PV. Cabs are cheap for a short ride in PV, but that is not a short ride!

Thanks for your replies. Another question: We were quoted $7.00 Cdn. per person for a hotel van to pick us up at the airport. Is that a good price?

I can't compare from my own experience because airport to Palmar is a pretty short ride. I'm not sure about the hotel van price per person vs. grabbing any airport taxi. Am assuming they wouldn't be that different one way or the other (just guessing).<BR><BR>I always arrive, pay at the taxi window whatever the posted/asked price is and just hop in... the quicker to get to my hotel, beach and sunshine ;-).<BR><BR>Staying on the southside is a longer ride (as I posted above 170 peso recently for 1 person) and since the more budget hotels I stay at don't offer a pickup service, I either catch a local bus outside the airport or just pay for a cab ride.<BR><BR>We need a &quot;hotel zone&quot; -staying person to tell us current airport taxi fare for two people to compare for you.<BR><BR>The above poster is correct that from Villa del Palmar *all* the way out to Nuevo quite a distance (20-30 mins.)? and am guessing it would be at least that amount ($10-15US)?

You can catch a bus from Villa del Palmar to the Mayan Village. They run fairly often and are inexpensive. It is just as easy to take a cab from the airport to the resort and around the same price.

Hi Penny,<BR>I live in Nuevo and a taxi from town will cost about $150 pesos. There are silver colored modern busses that say Nuevo Vallarta ask the driver for Mayan. They cost $10 pesos p/person and are very pleasant and will take about 30 minutes.
