Tabacon vs. Baldi vs. Eco-Thermales -- thermal/hot springs in Costa Rica

Helping a friend who'll be visiting the Arenal area in February and will be staying for 1 night, seeking to 'relax in the waters'. Feb is high season in CR; consequently, he's unable to book a 1 night stay at Tabacon (at that time of year, they require 2-nite minimum).

SO, I'm hoping someone can provide feedback on the Baldi Hotel (fairly new), which I assume is adjacent to the Baldi Springs.

From other comments, I know the Baldi springs aren't (or weren't) as upscale / nice as what Tabacon offers ..... however, since they now have a hotel, has there been any changes w/ Baldi???

Finally, any recent opinions on how these two places (springs, that is) compare to Eco-Thermales? I'm not sure exactly where Eco Thermales springs are located ..... is there an adjacent hotel ?

I've been to Tabacon Resort ..... quite awhile ago when staying there and/or entrance to the thermal springs was significantly less expensive .... my, how the cost @ Tabacon has escalated.
