St. Johns, Virgin islands-reef quality??

i was there in 1995 and 1998 and the snorkling on the reefs was the BEST. has anyone been there lately- and, prior...to make a comparison?? i want to go back in Feb, but, no use if the reefs are all beat down and barren from too much use... any thoughts??
