Hi all
My husband is in a sailboat race from California to Cabo in March. The race is during our son's springbreak. We will have four 17 year olds with us and I'm wondering if Cabo is where we should stay or after the race, should we travel on down to the Caribbean side? Here are my questions:
1.) Is there swimming/snokeling in Cabo?
2.) Temperature in March in Cabo?
3.) Villa/condos to rent near the best beach in Cabo?
4.) Safe for the teens in Cabo?
Thanks for any feedback!

Because of the way Cabo sits at the tip of the Baja peninsula there are only a very few beaches that are safe for swimming. It's very rough and dangerous many places.
Weather will be very nice in March. Sunny, clear, warm, cooling off a bit at night.
You want to be on Medano Beach (for closest to town and swimmable). Lots of hotels and condos to choose from.
What kind of safety are you worried about? I mean I guess kids that age could sneak off and go drinking or something.
There's a friendly and very active forum over at www.tripadvisor.com for Cabo San Lucas, Los Cabo, and San Jose del Cabo. Try your question there. Only a couple Cabo folks read this Fodors I think.
Thanks Suze, I will look at tripadvisor, I really like that site.
Compared to the Caribbean side, the water in Cabo is very chilly. But we love it and are also heading down at Easter.
As Suze pointed out, Medano Beach has lots of lodging choices and water activities. I personally wouldn't turn my 17 year old daughter loose, but I am over protective and in a group they could look out for each other.
Check out tripadvisor for more info.
