Congrats - that's exciting!
I'm jealous!
Sounds awesome - good for you!!
Have fun!
Wow! You are seeing it all. I think that's the perfect combo of a little jungle and a little island. Check out Belize Zoo if you can on the transfer between the two!
Good tip!

It's nice that Chaa Creek let you do a split with your days; that should work out perfectly! One heads up about their food - they serve big multi-course meals, and you're not obligated to do every course and pay for it if you don't want to. We found it to be way more food than we could eat. They also serve a free little appetizer/amuse bouche at dinner and homemade bread. That plus soup, salad, big meal, and dessert was too much for us. Their food was very good though. We also ate at the pool for lunch and that was great too. Have fun!
brmsimmons,

I know exactly how you feel - our trip is booked, too (except for the Tropic Air part), but we are going in Feb 2013. Can't wait!

3 night Victoria House on Ambergris
We had to ship Tikal this time

Leaving later this week! I've booked ATM and Tikal overnight with Maximum Adventure Tours. William Hoffman had a conflict for my dates so I am now doing transfers with Discounted Belize Shuttles and Tours.
Happy trails!!
brmsimmons, you mentioned that Maximum Adventure Tours charged you $90/person; is that just for the transportation to Tikal? On their website, their overnight package is $230/person, and their one day turnaround trip to Tikal is $125.
aztoad- when I was initially looking I was just going to do transportation, we ended up doing the overnight to Tikal at $230 pp and thought it was worth it.IMO Tikal needs an overnight. Max is a great guy and made the border crossing very smooth, he will certainly keep you well fed as well! We booked ATM through him as well but he contracted out to Gonzo with River Rat Expeditions and he was awesome! He is very passionate about caving and Mayan history
Thanks for reporting back! Anything more to share? (hint hint)
I just need to sit down and write my trip report, hint taken
Thanks brmsimmons. I'm looking for a reliable/inexpensive transfer to Black Rock Lodge. I think I found one for $110, but we may also try the public bus to San Ignacio and then transfer from there for ~$40. We'll see...
William Hofman is highly recommended:

We used belize discount shuttles and tours to Chaa Creek(same road as Black Rock) for $50 pp, our driver was Abraham and the ride was very comfortable.
