Single Girl 50's looking for AI in Costa Rica
Traveling solo and want some feedback on good resorts for single women (safe, not all couples etc...) Would want to be on the ocean and resort type facility/spa etc... all inclusive with a lot of activities. Anyone have suggestions? Also is Costa Rica safe for women traveling alone? Thank you!

Costa Rica is not known for its AI resorts - there are very few. But people seem to enjoy the Westin at Playa Conchal in Guanacaste near Brasilito, Flamingo, not too far from Tamarindo. The beach there is one of the prettiest in Costa Rica.
It is very safe for women to travel solo, but just do not drive at night. That's the same advice for all visitors since the roads are bad with many pedestrians, animals, etc. in the road.

Is there a specific reason you picked Costa Rica? I don't think of it as an All-Inclusive resort kind of a place.
For your request I'd suggest Mexico, either west or east coast (maybe Puerto Vallarta or Playa del Carmen). I travel solo regularly there without issue (20+ trips).

There are some nice resort town with AI hotels in Guanacaste. There are also smaller towns that have all the facilities of an AI but also offer charming smaller places that feel a bit more like home and allow you to experience the local culture a bit better. There is a difference between the resort destinations you will see in the books, the biggest being that some are more suited for spring breakers, others for expats, and other for the golf/yacthing type.

We rented Villa Vista de Oro, an amazing all inclusive villa. 6500 square feet with 6 br and 7 baths. oceanfront with an amazing cook and maid. is in ocotal. was amazing. you can have open air massages at villa, cook with given you lessons on how to prepare things, and you can easily do day activities. highly recommend tours your way out of coco.
