Shopping for silver jewelry in Puerto Vallarta? Some personal suggestions.

Shopping for jewelry in Puerto Vallarta? here are some places we like and can recommend (all located in the city's south side):

- Eddy's Factory (Francisca Rodriguez 133, north side of street, about half-way between Olas Altas and Los Muertos beach) - most of the hand-crafted offerings are in silver and/or silver with precious and/or semi-precious gem stones.

We have known and purchased from the owner (Edmundo) for several years, and on more recent trips have been able to get know his son, and see/buy some of his finely-crafted, very original and beautiful pieces. The purchases (all of the "me to her" kind) have been several lovely silver pendants, each with a different semi-precious gem stone (malachite, amethyst, tiger's eye, star ruby, and etc.), and a silver 'friendship' ring. The daughter (when with us a couple of years ago) purchased three exquisite and highly-unique silver rings - each with a natural opal.

It's really quite 'the' store to see, and experience -- the shop itself, and the tools being used look like something from the past (or maybe read from a Charles Dickens novel!!), but not to worry, the jewelry, and its craftsmanship is beautiful, and very today!!

There is some rather nice inexpensive cosmetic jewelry available there as well, but it's the jewelry that's hand-crafted and created there, that brings us in, and back during all our stays.

Quality stuff, honest and forthright people to deal with. We like Eddies!!

- Roberto's Silver (Olas Altas 250, beach side of street, just to the immediate west of Parque Lazaro Cardenas) - silver pendants, chains, earrings, bracelets, and etc.

Roberto is a fine gentleman and really nice guy, and a real master at getting you to spend more than you "bargained" for!!

We like Roberto, and have bought several pieces of jewelry (silver pendants, chains, and earrings) from him over the past several years.

- YESA Jewelry (Basilio Badillo 219, north side of street, to the back in a small courtyard) - finely crafted jewelry - mostly silver, and silver with precious and semi-precious stones. Very beautiful offerings -- very original, one-of-a-kind designs. Audelio "Yeyo" Aburto H., designer.

We believe these places have jewelry offerings 'over and above' the ordinary "for the tourist fare" found throughout the city. The jewelry is priced "fairly and squarely", we like how we feel when dealing with the proprietors, and we like and value the quality of the craftsmanship of what they sell. It is not difficult to recommend them to others!!

Thanks for your recent great posts about PV. I don't even buy silver there (other than small earrings, usually from a beach vendor!) but this post made me miss Vallarta!!

I should have said a little more about Yesa - but was reluctant to say very much as we have yet to purchase there. We stop in, browse, and always admire, but we find the prices just a touch 'steep' for us. But when compared to so many of the other jewelry shops throughout town, the prices though are great for the fine-quality jewelry being crafted there. And there are offerings in gold as well as the more common silver. With and without semi-precious and precious gem stones. 'Yeyo' does some very fine work!!!

I just returned from Puerto Vallarta. I have purchased from Yesa for 2 years now. Yeyo's original designs are exquisite and very reasonable for what you are getting. We found them to be more reasonable than Eddie's for a much better product. Yeyo will do custom made jewelry - your design or his. Well worth a visit to Yesa.

Yesa silver took my money!

Yesa silver took money for 2 custom projects and has not delivered them. He will not return my messages and when I have called him he now hangs up on me. Don’t trust him and take your business elsewhere!

Jennifer - You are posting on a thread from 10 years ago, so not sure how helpful it will be or who will see it. You might want to check on the Trip Advisor Puerto Vallarta forum for previously discussions about Yesa and other silver vendors.
