SFO to SJO advice wanted

Coming from San Francisco, I'm planning a trip to CR for ten days in the first two weeks of December. Looking at Taca flights, they only give you 27 minutes to change planes in San Salvador, and similar on the way back. The return makes me nervous--you miss that connection you wait for hours.

Jet Blue has a 10:45 pm flight via Ft. Lauderdale with a 1 hr 43 minute layover which sounds safer. But i'd like to hear from others before I make a decision. Any negatives to Jet Blue? Thanks.

The connection in San Salvador is very easy and you should have no problems. On the way back, I put us on the earlier flight so to give us plenty of time. TACA ended up holding the flight to SFO in order to wait for the last flight from San Jose.

I had the same concerns you did and others here helped put my mind at ease.
