Sayulita infomation
Hi: no up-to-date info on Sayulita...thinking of a family vacay next February and will need
aa 4 bed/3bath house w/pool.
After reading TA's Sayulita forum I'm getting a bit concerned about the safety of the town
and the safety of the oceanwater.
Any info. on the best area to stay in with the cleanest beaches would be appreciated by
this fretful grandma, lol.
TIA

There is no problem with safety around town that I am aware of. It's a surfing favorite, tourist beach town, yoga retreats, etc. I'm wondering what you have read on Trip Advisor that says otherwise?
I have never stayed out that way but do go to Puerto Vallarta at least annually (same airport, PVR, as for Sayulita). Plus known a number of people who loved and vacationed in Sayulita in the past year. One couple to attend a wedding, stayed 10 days, another to do a yoga camp.

HI SUZE:
The Sayulita traveller's forums I checked with were TA and Sayulita Community Forum. Both had
threads on ATM safety (there's no bank in town), a water borne virus circulating in the main beach,
and house break-ins.
I've booked places all over Europe and Hawaii without trepidation, but since I've only been to Mexico
once in an all-inclusive I'm a bit skittish. Esp. since one of our group has immunity problems.
I know you are a great supporter of PV so I really appreciate your input.

I am a great supporter and truly in love with Puerto Vallarta. I've been there ~24 times I think it is.
but PV is not Sayulita so I really can't help with what the TA folks are reporting up that way. Just I never heard of those issues myself.
Is there a reason you specifically chose Sayulita instead of some of the other smaller towns up that way? Or staying in closer to Vallarta proper? Or to the south of PV, there are lots of nice villa rentals.

Good question! The town is v. popular with B.C. folks - we've run into quite a few who love it there.
It's for a 50th wedding celebration and since one daughter and her dh spent their honeymooin in PV
and have gone there since we thought Sayulita would be something slightly different and perhaps
quieter. IOW, just stuck a pin in a map, lol! Now I feel obligated to stay there and I have found a
lovely looking rental in a small compound right on the beach...I'll wait and see if we can get the dates
we want b4 looking elsewhere. Thanks again.

A coworker and his girlfiend recently spent 10 days in Sayulita (I helped them with some small parts of their travel arrangements). They were going down for a wedding and absolutely loved it. They didn't mention anything negative... at all.
