Room in Liberia

We have a nite in Liberia before going home.
Any suggestions on a great place to stay...or failing that, a great place to eat?

When you say that you want a place for the night before going home, I assume you are flying out of Liberia airport. Keep in mind that the city of Liberia is about 15-20 minutes east of the airport, which is kind of isolated. I know of a great place to stay in Playa Ocotal which is about 30 minutes west of the airport. It's called Villa Vista Mar.
As far as food is concerned, there are several decent restaurants in Liberia. They are not always easy for gringos to find out about because they are primarily frequented by Ticos. Liberia is not (yet) much of a tourist destination. If you want something a little more tourist friendly, you should look in Playa del Coco, Playa Hermosa or Playa Ocotal - all about 30-40 minutes from the airport.

hi,
We are in the same boat as you and have a night coming into CR and when we leave.
The choices are limited. The Best Western is an option. We booked at Hotel Bramedero which isn't the 4 seasons but we there just to sleep before flying out.

Additional info would help. Will you have a car? Do you mind driving a half hour or so and on what budget. If none are factors, then what Rbrazill said is what I would recommend. Playa Hermosa and Villa del Suenos has the best food in Guancaste, but it's pricy. The pools are ok and the beach is really nice, 5 min walk. That's my recomendation, but it is 30 to 40 mins away by car.

Hotel Bramadero is a good choice. I've never stayed there, but have looked around and it looked nice enough...I really like the restautant there though. Have eaten there several times. Good food and good service.
