New resort, have stayed at Riu in Playa and loved it. Is the location and beach a good one???? Does anyone know which travel companies are going to be carrying this hotel?? Not due to open till May.

I'd like to know more about this place if it is in Puerto Vallarta.
Apple Vacations was offering an outstanding price of 659.00 package rate for 7 nights out of Denver!!! I called and they said it is because it is a new property. Makes me wonder if it is still under construction. We are leaving for PV June 4th and opted for another all inclusive. We were also very intriqued but didnt want to take a chance.
I have booked a trip for June to the Riu Jalisco resort. I have heard from the Manager that it will be fully operational by the middle of May. Apple Vacations guarantees a fully functional resort or a partial refund of your cost.
I am trying it. I have heard that it is beautiful and am willing to take a gamble.
If anyone has just come back from PV, please post if you have seen any progress at this resort.
They are working 'round the clock to finish at the Riu. I know because my "novio" is working there designing and painting the murals (check them out!). The place is absolutely HUGE, 700 rooms and looks like a castle. Great beach. Bus stops out in front so easy access to PV downtown.
The Apple website lists it as not having a beach on site? Is this true? Is there beach access and how far away from the resort is it?
We are Canadian and they are offering it here in the Sunquest and Alba tours. August is showing for $1249 CDN. We are considering it, as we have never been to Mexico.
Opinions on Puerto Vallarta would be appreciated!
I'm a Canadian travel agent who is being sent down to the new Riu Jalisco in June on a "fam" trip to check out PV's newest resort. Sunquest is the tour operator that we are using. The resort looks amazing, and I've talked to other agents who have been to PV and they've all said that the beach at the resort is incredible. The Riu chain was voted "World's Best" in 2002, which is always a good sign. I'm completely excited about staying at Jalisco.
