Resorts in San Juan del Sur Nicaragua

We are trying to decide between the Pelican Bay Resort and the Palermo Hotel and Resort. Interested if anyone has stayed at either recently and can help us decide. Are either walking distance to town? Any information that can be provided would be really appreciated.
