"Reciprocal Fee" when arriving by bus

We are Canadian citizens and will be arriving Santiago by bus from Mendoza. Will we have to pay the "Reciprocal Fee" at the bus station on our arrival (as at the airport)?

Also, what to expect as taxi fare from the bus station to Hotel Orly?

Thanks!

The reciprocity fee is charged only to those who arrive by air.

Only charged if arriving by air at the international airport in Santiago.
A taxi from the bus station to the Orly will probably cost the equivalent of US$10. If you arrive in the Turbus station (Estación Alameda) there is an official taxi rank. It is also connected to the metro line 1.

On a similar subject if I may...

My wife and I are flying into Santiago's international airport in 3 weeks. We will be staying at the Radisson Plaza Hotel. About how much for a cab there? Is there anything I need to know about choosing cabs at the airport? I read about the busses out of the airport - should I be looking more into that? Or it really worth the difference?

Thank you.

As there are two of you take a cab. To the Radisson it will cost around US$40. just outside Customs there are desks where you can buy tickets for the taxi. The price is the same whatever company you choose.
