Reaction to US citizens

I am going on a medical mission in about 3 weeks to San Salvador. I am hoping someone can tell me how US citizens are currently being received there. Also, although I won't have a lot of spare time, I would also appreciate thoughts on what to do (or not do!) while I am there.
