I think the water taxi picks up at the Playa Los Muertos boat dock just south of the Los Archos hotel in south PV. Don't know the schedule!

adios!
mexicodan
www.mexicomexico.info

The Water taxis hold on average 20 people. The cost is dependent on the distance. From "Los Muertos" it is about 70-80 pesos (one way). You will have to get yourself into Vallarta to take any of the taxis, or tours. There is a schedule, as well as a map on the "Transportation" page of my site at;
http://modena.intergate.ca/personal/davidj/

D.J.
The location of the pier is on Los Arcos/Playa Los Muertos. The "water taxis" are boats known as "pangas" (sp?, I believe. We took one to Yelapa and I might offer a few pointers on what to expect. One, people start lining up ahead of time, so get there earlier than your departure time. Two, these are essentially large open boats with outboard motors, so don't expect deluxe transport. Third, your boat may very well stop at several points along the way for locals to get on and off with groceries, etc. Lastly, be prepared for a longish ride, but it's really kind of fun to go this way, and Yelapa is a fun place to hang out for the day. Situate yourselves at one of the palapa restaurants and someone will get you beach chairs and refreshments all afternoon. Definitely know your return time and get in line at the pier early to be sure you get on, or you may be there all night! Have fun-we did!
