PV Easter Weekend 2017

Hi everyone,

My partner and I are heading to PV for 5 nights from Good Friday until the Wednesday after Easter Monday. We realize its going to be busy in PV with all the tourists and Mexican nationals vacationing.

Would anyone be able to recommend some beaches that are further away to avoid the crowds?

Also what street parties/parades/festivals are fun during this time? We want to be able to enjoy this atmosphere of partying, culture and all that Semana Santa has to offer!

Thanks,

Kevin

Most of the beaches will be packed

PV is a really easy city, all you'll need to do to find the party is go out on the streets.

Check the Malecon, the main town square in front of the church with the crown on the top & the amphitheater under the arches across from that in Centro, and L. Cardenas plaza on the South-side. That's where things will be happening.

Do you have a place to stay yet?

The small beach below the Linda Mar is your best bet but even that will be busier than norm

Thanks! Yes we booked a place right on the malecon (we didnt know it would be this busy for Easter!).

While I enjoy the partying, we are also looking for some quieter beaches to relax. Any suggestions?

If everything will be packed, we might have to cancel our reservation and lose some $$ and try another destination.

Bucerias is great but will be packed as well. Most will be. Expect wall to wall on the beach.

It's not just Puerto Vallarta, any beach destination in Mexico I would expect will be busy those two weeks. It's a big deal there.

Unless you mean change to another non-Mexican destination, you might as well go to Vallarta and see what it's all about ;-)

Just enjoy the crowds and the excitement of a real "Mexican" Holiday like Semana Santa. If beach is not important you might consider Guadalajara a hour's flight away for the fete. I however would stick with PV as it will be a fun place.
I've done a couple of dozen Easters both beach side & inland enjoying them all.
