Thanks, DrD. I was hoping to do it online. How close to departure will we be able to still purchase tickets?? We arrive in BA on a Friday morning in January and I wanted to take the ferry on Sunday. Will that be enough advance time to purchase tickets on Friday??

Hi jane, when are you traveling, I tell you as a rule there is NO problem in buying your ticket on the last moment. No big deal. The boats are big, huge and unless it the super super high season, like an special week end or something like that make things simple no stress just go and buy a ticket or if you prefer buy it a day or two ahead from any travel agency or from the Buquebus office in calle Cordoba on the 800 blick. Good luck. I have taken it many many times, also can tickets can be bought by phone giving a valid card, you can do this a couple of days before. Again boats are enormous.

I just bought two tickets from Buenos Aires to Colonia for Easter weekend. It rejected my Amex but took the Mastercard. I have yet to find out how to pick up the tickets.
Last Easter I tried to take a side trip to Colonia but tickets were sold out the entire weekend. (I tried to book a few days before). I would try to reserve ahead of time.
