Hotel Mousai
Hyatt Ziva
Buenaventura/Villa Premiere
Secrets/Now Amber
Sunset Plaza
Casa Velas/Velas Vallarta
Flamingos
Sunscape
Fiesta Americana
Grand Fiesta Americana
Golden Crown Paradise
Hilton

... are some of the All Inclusive resorts in PV (I can't recommend a particular one, because I've never stayed AI in Puerto Vallarta myself because I prefer to eat out in the restaurants around town).

With so many fine restaurants I could not stay in a AL there but to each their own. Like Suze I never stayed in one there.
Of course I am a rank amateur compared to her having only been to PV 15 or so times with her in the several dozens.

I have stayed at many and have also toured many in my 20 plus trips to PV, so I guess it all depends what you want in an AI? Do you want luxury, nice beach, close to town or just relax at the resort?
There are many different areas if you fly into PVR, marina, hotel zone, old town (no good AI's there), south of PV and Nuevo which has most of the good AI's and the best beaches (although south of PV you have the Hyatt Ziva which is nice and on a good beach but small, you could walk back and forth the whole beach in 5 minutes).
So if you give some idea what you want, I can certainly help you out with that as I've been to most. Budget would also be helpful. Also, if you're bringing kids?

Good pointers married11, I also have been in the area and found the old town great for walking to restaurants but not so much for AI. I would also agree that the Nuevo area is best for nice beaches...

Strange as may sound we are pool people. Love AI as a base to relax, enjoy some relaxing entertainment and sit by the pool. Of course cant do that all the time, so off we go sightseeing, so dont want to be too far from town

For really great pools, again the large luxurious ones are in Nuevo Vallarta about 45 minutes north of town (but very close to the quaint town of Bucerias, which is also on a great beach, cheaper to shop and eat than PV and a much smaller town feel and not as touristy as PV). These are where you're going to find the great resorts with large pools, good beach and full amenities.
The Grand Fiesta Americana about 15 minutes south of PV has nice pools, m and a great facility (adults only) and nice water but a small beach.
The Barcelo about 25 minutes south of PV in Mimaloya (small little village in a gorgeous location) has great pools and an amazing view with large rooms.
In town the Sheraton has a very large pool but not in a great beach and very heavily time share (but an amazing brunch on Sundays and a Mexican Fiesta on Thursdays and a short walk to the malecon.
Any other wants on your list that might help narrow it down?

Look at Hyatt Ziva or Mousai or Grand FA, those are outside town to the south but a shorter distance. Way closer than the resorts out in Nuevo Vallarta are to the north as far as convenience for getting to town often.

I never recommend Barcelo because of people getting sick there that has been a problem off and on for years.

Garza Blanca also has an AI option (I will be staying there soon but not on an AI - just a room with breakfast included)

Suze, I think Mousai and Garza Blanca share AI privileges -so you can eat/drink at either or both.

Are you sure it goes both ways??? Typically in sister properties the more expensive resort can eat/drink/pool at the less expensive one, but not vice versa.

You can't share privileges from GB to Mousai, other way around.
There haven't been reports of sickness for a couple years at the Barceló and frankly, I was never convinced. I have sent dozens of people there over the years and never an issue (including me and my children). They all loved it.
Hyatt Ziva does not have great pools, I have actually seen them, so can comment on that. Their beach is very nice, but you can walk back and forth in that cove in 5 minutes flat.
The beaches at the resorts in Nuevo majorly trump the pools in town.
The Riu's have great pools, but if you want more an adult resort, the Palace is the way to go, less kids there.
Dreams has great pools as well.
If you give more criteria, then more recommendations can b emade

Where do you see that? I have read many reviews and other than the normal that you get at any hotel, nothing like a few years ago.
But again, I've actually been there and sent many people who I've spoken to on return with actual experience.
It's hard to judge a place unless you've seen it, eaten there, swam in their pools, had drinks there, sent tonnes, etc.
half of those reviews a few years ago I am sure were fake, one post wonders, all the same things that were very similar in the reviews, so fake reviews IMO.

I know I know. You're a professional travel agent. We get it.

I don't have to have seen a place myself or "eaten there, swam in their pools, had drinks there" etc. to know that Barceló has had health issues with guests getting sick ongoing for many years. It seems to happen in certain months more than others.

You have absolutely no way of knowing that.

Has nothing to do with being a travel agent. Has to do with being there, eating there, seeing their rooms, etc. And yes, I do believe a lot of those one post wonders were fake. I also just went back for 20 pages in the reviews on TA and 3 people got sick (one had the flu before they left, one had eaten in town many times and I have gotten sick at Margaritagrill so who knows what restaurant they ate at that got them sick, and one never left the resort). That's not many so I do not believe they are still happening.
Why you feel the need to point out I'm a travel agent to somehow diminish my opinion is baffling to me. I have been to PV for 20 years and 20 plus times as a tourist (with kids, w/o and solo), so I have just as much experience as you, but on this thread, much more since I have actually stayed at or seen all these properties.
It's not a contest, we all know you think you are the PV queen, but others have opinions too, so don't get all worked up.
Why can't we all post our experiences and opinions w/o trying to one up eachother. There is no need to do that Suze.

I am not trying "to one up" anyone.

YOU post about "sending many people" places. Which doesn't make sense unless people here understand you are a professional agent.

Anyone who wants to can go stay at the Barcelo resort, fine by me!

No need to pick a fight about it.

No, actually I don't. Again why the need to pick a fight here?

Not picking a fight, I actually really like you and your info. I just don't know why when you don't like my responses you always say "you're a travel agent"? It' slike you're trying to disregard my info, even though it is from actual experience and actual people who have been and told me, not just from reading questionable reports on TA.
Done.
