My husband & I have planned a trip to bdc, my oldest daughter is having some anxiety over this trip due to a tragic accident that occurred in her life 4 years ago. With that being said, I understand there is no cell phone service at bdc but I was wondering if Puerto Jimenez has service? All I need to do is once we land in Puerto Jimenez is make a quick call to let her know we have safely arrived & maybe touch base with her again mid trip (we will be there 6 days). I am assuming we will have no trouble reaching her when we are in San Jose. I also understand there may be a computer available at bdc that i can purchase some time on but would much rather speak to her in person as I feel this would be better for her. I am not trying to be over protective but this will be the 1st time we have left her since the accident. Anyone having any info on getting in contact w/ the US while at bdc or in puerto Jimenez would be greatly appreciated.

Get a $20 phone card when you are in San Jose or in Puerto Jimenez (at the BM store), then you can call straight from the reception office at Bosque, just ask the front desk. Much easier as the internet can be spotty there and more expensive.
