Private homes in Manuel Antonio

We are considering renting a private house in the Manuel Antonio area for a week or so. We want four bedrooms or more and a staff and a good location. Has anyone rented a house in the area or can recommend one?

We are renting two villas in February through www.vivalasvillas.com or www.escapevillas.com. We have never seen them but they appear to be very nice and they are next to each. Frommers recommended them in one of their books although they are expensive. We are traveling with a group of sixteen (8 couples) so it is actually costing less per couple then it would be if we were staying in one of the nicer hotels in MA. The villas have a manager, maid, and gardener. If you want a chef you have to pay an extra fee but I guess he is well worth the cost!($100 for dinner plus the cost of food) I believe that they also have an all inclusive fee. We didn't go that route because we want to check out the restaurants in the area.
You didn't mention when you were going but if it is within the next 6 months and you want a house, you should get a reservation soon. We made a reservation about two months ago for ours and some of the weeks we wanted were already reserved!
Also, if you want to check out other companies and villas just do a search for "villas in MA, CR." Good luck!

Joslin: Have you stayed in Casa Samba? That is one of the villas we are renting. We are also renting Dolce Vita, which is supposed to be next door! I would be interested in getting more info. from you about these villas if you have stayed in them previously or if not, I would like to hear from you after you have stayed there. Congrats on your wedding. It will be beautiful! Thanks!

I have not yet stayed at Casa Samba, but I have been there and have seen it from the outside. It looks great! Both homes are beautiful! I know that to get to the front door of Casa Samba there are a LOT of stairs! You made good choices. Keep in touch with me by e-mail and I will let you know how it goes. It is best to reach me @ [email protected]
