Prices of flights to Belize...
Just wanting to know what you guys think is a fair price for a flight to BZE fom Kansas City.
The best fare for our dates is $466 PP.
Do you think that is the best we can do?

That's a bargain. If you're 100% certain of your dates and can live with the restrictions on the fare (such as what the penalty is if you need to cancel or change dates), I'd grab it too. Do read the terms of the fare before you buy the ticket.

I made our reservations last night. It sounds like a great place to visit, if for nothing else, just to escape the nastiness of March weather in the Midwest. It's usually not super bad in March here, but it can be.
Now that our flight and accomodations (Oh, I made a reservation for this little house 2.5 miles from San Pedro that sounds perfect for us) are out of the way, I am asking for some more help.
Things to do and see. We do not swim, so snorkeling, even though that's what most do, is pretty much out for us.
We don't mind walking at all. We walked 50 miles on a five-day trip to Manhattan recently and loved everything we did.
What are your suggestions for things on land to do (either on the mainland of Belize of Ambergris Caye)? We want to see some ruins, rain forest, animals, Caves, relax, etc.
Who are the best tour guides for the things I have listed? Some of the prices, because I can see this becoming very expensive.
Any help would be appreciated.

The day trip from Ambergris to the ruins at Lamanai allows you to see some jungle and (usually) some wildlife. Lots of birds, crocodiles, monkeys. Long day, but fun. I recommend Tanisha Tours. Great guide. Last I knew they offered a pretty substantial discount for paying cash. They also offer other mainland tours, but Lamanai is the only one I've been on.
Is the place you're staying north or south of town? Not that it really makes much difference. Will you have bicycles? We like riding bikes north on the 'road', then bar hopping back down the beach to town.
A day trip to Caye Caulker is fun as well. Just hop on one of the water taxis, takes about 20-30 minutes.
We walk a lot on the island. Our condo is about a mile south of town, and most days we seem to walk to town at least once. Usually more.

The house you rented looks nice. I rarely am on the road south of town, at least not south of Victoria House, so I'm not sure where it is.
I'll make a point to find it, just because I'm curious, when we get down there in January.
Maybe we'll see you strolling the beach.

Here is an idea for others (as you have already booked your trip). I checked flights from Texas cities and found them to be nearly $600 RT (best deals). However, I can find a RT ticket to Cancun for $277 (taxes and fees included). From Cancun, you can take two bus trips for a total of about $20USD (one from Cancun to Chetumal and then another from Chetumal to Belize City) and get to Belize City. It takes a while (5 hours, but you also get to see the Cancun area, the southern Yucatan, and the north half of Belize on the trip down). To me, that makes it an extra good deal. Just and idea.
