Prices during Xmas and New Years for Rio de Janiero

Just started thinking about spending Christmas and New Years in Rio. Does anyone having experience or knowledge about prices of airlines (from Denver) or hotel prices in Rio during that time? Does it go up because of the holidays, or stay about the same? I find some great prices this time of year, but just wondering what it will be for holidays, before I get my mind set and then can't afford it. Thanks in advance.
