Presidente Inter Continental - thumbs up or thumbs down???
I'm thinking of booking a room at the Presidente in April. Am interested in your experiences there re room, food, drink, location, any anything else you think important.

If you're talking about the one in Puerto Vallarta, I stayed there last August and loved it! We had one of the rooms with the hot tub. It was large, clean, and had a great view from the balcony. The pool bar was awesome (good snacks and great drinks) and the staff was super friendly. The buffet food was okay (breakfast being the best) and the Italian restuarant was really good. The beach was the best one that I saw in the PV. It's small but clean, pretty, and the water is nice and clear. The only down side is that the hotel is a good ways from town. The cabs are pretty cheap though. I would absolutely go back there.

If your talking about the one in Cancun then I say thumbs up as it is on a great beach centrally located to everything and a good plain solid hotel with no frills but if at a good price then a good choice.

If you are asking about the PI in Mexico City, we stayed there 3 nights last year and were quite satisfied. The location was good, in that you walk in the area to good restaurants and the museum. The room was very good with a good view from the upper floors. Certain upper floors are the concierge type, and if you can get it (we did by accident), breakfasts and cocktail hour are free. The upscale restaurant was very good, and not expensive, as is all food in Mexico.

We stayed at the AI Presidente in San Jose del Cabo (25 minutes from Los Cabos). The location is isolated, very quiet, but beautiful. The ocean is not safe for swimming due to strong rip tides. The swimming pools are fine. The drinks are well-made, especially the margaritas. The food is OK at the breakfast buffet, good at the reservations-only restaurants, and good at the made-to-order restaurant for lunch. It's a good place to stay for 3-4 days. You'll be sick of this place if you stay there longer. You can use the resort's bikes to ride to downtown, about 5 minutes away. But there's not much there to browse through. You need a taxi or rental car to get to Los Cabos. Not recommended for those looking for a party atmostphere. The resort has a freezer to store your deep-sea fishing catch. It was not working well when we stayed there about 2 years ago.
