Police concerned about crime from Tocumen International to Panama City

On Monday evening, three tourists arrived at Tocumen International Airport from Venezuela - They took a cab and on the way to the city, they were intercepted by two vehicles. The assailants used weapons and beat the driver - however, in the midst of this assault - tourist police arrived and took three of the thugs into custody - one of the vehicles got away. However, police are concerned that gangs may be targeting travelers arriving at the airport and are in cahoots with airport employees who are tipping them off as to is arriving.
