PDC & Quiet Hotel - Not Compatible?

I want to be within easy walking distance of PDC's 5th Ave but still want a good quiet hotel (non A.I.). Closer to the beach, the better but those hotels look like they're for the party crowd. Think I'm going to have to go inland a block or 2. Any ideas? Is Luna Blue too far away? I cannot find it on any map.

Check out Shangri La Caribe -- one of the best beaches in the area and only a 10 minute walk down the beach to 5th Avenue (or a $5 cab ride)much quieter and peaceful, the beach was very crowded right downtown. That might be too far away for you but to me it was worth it.

Luna Blue is the old hotel Zanzibar, which may help you to find it on a map.
It is a little inland by just a block or so.
My son and friends stayed at Luna Blue. He said the owners are very nice.

We stay at the Treetops, a small hotel on 8th st, just steps from the beach, just steps from 5th ave. Most of the rooms overlook a jungle like private courtyard, so are fairly quiet. This is a 2* hotel that attacts more families than partyers. With the windows open, you may hear some of the noise on 5th, but not enough to keep you awake. The most racket you will hear is when the hotel parrot starts squalking around 8:00 am.
The stretch of beach near the Treetops is the nicest in town.

I stayed at Luna Blue last month for a few nights. It was quiet and clean with beach passes for chairs and palapas at Mamitas. Last Dec. I stayed at Playa Maya for a few days which is on the beach and had a very nice time. Free breakfast and beach chairs/umbrellas. The view from the room was amazing to wake up to. Very clean hote and safe..I was there by myself as I was a LB. LB is at the north end of town and Playa Maya is on the beach at the end of Calle 8. Very quiet at both. LB is on 26th between 5th and 10. Next month I'm trying Riviera Del Sol for a few nights. Sounds good and has good reviews. It is on 30th and 1st, has breakfast included and passes to Mamitas. Very good response to my emails from all three hotels. Other possibilities that I thought of were La Tortuga which consistently gets good reviews as does Riveria Maya Caribe, Quinta Sol and Villa Amanecer. Shangri La is partial AI with a beautiful location on the beach.

Dolores: Sorry we did not see this post earlier. We missed it somehow. Our hotel, the Luna Blue, is on Calle 26th (four blocks north of Constituyentes)between 5th Ave and 10th Ave. We are about two blocks from the beach and Mamitas beach club.

PDC and quiet are definitely not incompatible! You may have to do a bit of research and choose somehwat carefully, on that point and others that may be of importance to you (like location, from the sound of your post).

WE loved Playa Maya! Only a block off of 5th, but very quiet and pexceful at night. Excellent location, food, roms, and security! Shangri La is great, too, but a bit further walk to 5th.
