Panama bird watching

We are planning on visiting Panama or Belize in the 1st week of April for 7 days. We visited Costa Rica last year.
My wife is into Bird/wildlife photography. Any suggestion is welcome.
I have some basic idea on pipeline road and the David area.

David area not so great, but Cerro Punta/Volcan/La Amistad area has a lot of potential.

People go to the Soberania Park/Pipeline Road area, but Canopy Tower is very, very expensive.

Thanks, plan to stay at Gamboa and visit Soberania Park/Pipeline Road.
Also take a tour with Canopy tower.
As for Cerro Punta looking at Los Quetzales lodge.

We were there in April and stayed at Finca Lerida Coffee Plantation. They have trails for self guided or you can hire a guide. We saw quite a few birds including quetzals.

We stayed at Los Quetzales--we spent two nights at the main lodge and two nights at their best wildlife cabin--#8 (ring-tailed cats on a nightly basis and one morning a male quetzal outside our bedroom window). Areas to visit include Lagunas Volcan, Sendero Quetzales, and Finca Hartmann.

Gamboa Rainforest Resort has a lot of good birding available and is very, very close to the Pipeline Road, and is on the Panama Canal (they offer birding by boat tours that take you to see the Snail Kites, etc). Their head of activities, Jose Soto, is an excellent bird guide.
