Our first family cruise, Cozumel

Hello all. My family and I are taking our first cruise. It is going to be a short cruise to make sure all of us are okay on the sea. We will be leaving out of Miami and our first stop is Key West. Then we head to Cozumel. I was just looking for some ideas on how we could spend our day there. I believe we have 10 hours in Cozumel. We are kind of looking to enjoy the beach if we can. Our daughter is 5 years old so that takes out snorkeling and diving. Just looking for some recommendations.

Also for food. Any really nice places to eat that have a decent kids menu? She isn't much into sea food or anything.

Thank you all for any input. We are excited for the trip!

Look at Bucanno's Beach Club. It's a beautiful setting on the north end of the island with great amenities. The food is fantastic. They have superb dressing rooms. Lots of shade. A great pool, beach, goood snorkeling, massage, etc. Highly recommend.

Thanks! I will definetly take a look at Bucanno's Beach club! One of my wifes coworkers also mentions something about Mr. Sanchos? The pictures online look pretty promising for that place but I have no ideas on the reviews.

Thanks again though!

Your family is going to have an amazing time, and my families favorite stop was to Cozumel. We never seen more shades of blue anywhere in the Caribbean Sea, than in Cozumel.

I think the reason we fell in love with Cozumel, was because of the tour. The Cozumel shore excursion we took part, was the best Cozumel tours we have ever done on a vacation in the Caribbean. We did lots of research on different travel pages, such as Trip Advisor. So my recommendation for the best tour in Cozumel, would be the Custom private Cozumel jeep tour by Cozumel Cruise Excursions (http://CozumelCruiseExcursions.NET) We had done a jeep excursion before in Cozumel, but it wasnt anywhere near as fun as this one and it was also a caravan tour and we booked with the cruise line. I have to say we were a little worried not booking with the cruise line, but as we soon discovered it was just a rumor the cruise lines spread about people missing their cruise because of outside tour companies, so they would book with the cruise line to make money. They even threw in a cooler of beer and cooler, and I have never taken a tour that did this. We had so much fun and our guide, Carlos, was outstanding! We ended up making a friend for life at the end of our trip to Cozumel. Carlos was so down to earth, and knew any and everything about Cozumel.

When you visit Cozumel, you have to snorkel or dive because that is one of the number one things to do. Carlos took us on a private snorkel tour at some exclusive beach club. We really didn't expect to see much sea life since we were snorkeling from the shore, and have already snorkeled from a boat which was AMAZING! But there was not much of a difference. Maybe because it was a great location, but either way it was fantastic. The kids really love to snorkeling in Cozumel, so we snorkeled for a long time and since it was a private tour, we were able to snorkel as long as we wanted. But eventually Carlos recommended for us to move along since we were only there for a day, and if we wanted to do the rest of the things in Cozumel that we wanted, we would have to get moving. The best part is that you get to create your own adventure in Cozumel. They have a recommended itinerary, which was pretty much exactly what we had planned. They really do take you to explore the best places available on the island. Its no wonder they're ranked the best Cozumel shore excursion to get the most out of your day in Cozumel. Our next stop was Punta Sur Eco Park where there was a lighthouse, and no theres no elevator. The climb is well worth it. The view from atop is absolutely breathtaking. Theres a view of most of the East Coast of Cozumel, also known as the other side of Cozumel. There was also a mayan ruin which an interesting story behind it. We discovered blowholes at secret locations, as well as beautiful secluded beaches and cool caves. Lunch was also included at a beach restaurant, and we had some really good chicken fajitas with guacamole. Doesn't include drinks, but we just brought the drinks from our cooler in the jeep.

I really can't think of a better tour that we have ever done on a cruise. If I was you I would check out their page to get more info, since Im sure I left something out. Oh, and don't forget to ask for Carlos, he is an amazing guide and highly recommend him.

Happy cruising!
