One week in Mendoza, Argentina in May. Enought to do? Side-trip to Santiago, Chile?

One week in Mendoza, Argentina in May. Enought to do? Side-trip to Santiago, Chile?
Hello.
I'll be spending a week in Mendoza, Argentina in May. I was wondering if there would be enough to do visiting the city and the surroundings, or if I should include a couple of days in Santiago, Chile? If I were to go to Santiago I would most probably to so by bus, as to be able to see the scenery along the way in the Andes. Also, as an American, travelling by bus I wouldn't have to pay the $100US fee for entering Chile by air. Any suggestions or comments feel free.
