Older Party Scene in Cancun?

We're two 30 year old female Spring Break "Professionals" ... meaning we work for a living and are no longer students. We want to know where the "older" crowd parties and hangs out in Cancun.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! I did my 7 Day Drunk Spring Break 10 years ago and don't need to repeat that experience!!

Jill,

My husband & I are 32 and have been to Cancun 4 times (going to Playa in May). We, also, don't like that wild party atmosphere anymore (just can't stay awake that late anymore!!). We go to all the same bars as the college/high school kids, but we just go at different times of the year. We've gone the last week of April, the last week of Sept, the 1st week of Dec, and the 1st week of June (bad time to go--it's 'Summer Break' time for graduating high school seniors!). Besides that one week in June, there were mostly people our age and older in Cancun at the times we went. We've gone to Senior Frogs, Carlos & Charlie's, Coco Bongo, Dady O, Pat O'Brien's....and they were pretty crazy, but it was mostly us 'older' people!! Also, around the 'Party Central' area and Plaza Mayafair there are some smaller bars that are a nice break from the big party clubs.

Jackie

p.s. you should get the Cancun map from www.cancunmap.com I get the newest revised editions every year before we go down there (they also have Riviera Maya, and Cozumel maps). I think the 2002 update is coming out very soon. It has every hotel, restaurant, bar, tour company, ATM... and lots of good tips.

Hi Jill,

You might also try Azucar for something different. It is much more upscale than the other clubs and specializes in live Salsa and other types of Latin music.
An older well-heeled clientele goes, and the music varies. It is close by Camino Real on the tip of the Hotel Zone. It's about half locales and half touristas. Wear your sparkles and heels!
