Nuevo Vallarta

Has anyone stayed in Nuevo Vallarta? I'm specifically looking at Viva Vallarta, an all inclusive resort.

I have not, because I LOVE Puerto Vallarta but like to stay in town. The resorts at Nuevo are 15-30 mins. bus or taxi cab ride away from El Centro. Much too isolated for me, because I like to know I am actually IN Mexico plus am often traveling solo female. I wouldn't ever go A-I because the food in town is so wonderful with so many restaurant choices.

I agree, stay in PV instead of Nuevo. It is a ways out, and you won't have the same feeling of PV you will get by staying in town. Restaurants in PV are way too good to miss, so I also say not to go all inclusive.

Hi. We stayed in Nuevo and stayed at the furthest northerly resort called Solare Sunset Bay. The Viva Vallarta resort is not in Nuevo, it is actually 30 more min. north from our hotel. So, it would be approx. 1 hr - 1 1/2 hrs. to downtown PV. This resort is very secluded and is the only resort in that area. We went to a town, just past this resort, called Punta Mita. We went there to get on a whale watching boat. That was great, by the way!Hope this helps you!!
